Prof. Jurchescu receives the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award

Asst Prof Oana JurchescuProfessor Jurchescu's research project is to study the structure and physical properties of organic semiconductors. The goal is to obtain a better understanding and control of the physical processes that govern charge transport in organic field effect transistors (OFETs). Specifically, Dr. Jurchescu performs research in nanotechnology, working on pentacene-based structures, modified to improve solubility and with the goal of developing plastic electronics. Dr. Jurchescu has set up a laboratory in the Wake Forest Center for Nanotechnology and Molecular Materials.

The Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award is intended to enrich the research and professional growth of young faculty at Oak Ridge Associated Universities. The award program is prestigious and highly competitive—young faculty in a wide variety of fields from over 120 member universities located across the USA are eligible to apply.
