Welcome, Jacque!

The Department of Physics and the Department of Computer Science welcome our new faculty member, Jacque Fetrow. Dr. Fetrow is our new Reynolds Professor of Computational Biophysics, a joint appointment between Physics and Computer Science.

Dr. Fetrow's studies computationally protein function and the way that drugs interact with proteins.

Dr. Fetrow joins us from GeneFormatics, Inc., a biotech company that she helped found in 1999. Before that, she was part of the faculty of the Scripps Research Institute and SUNY-Albany. At SUNY-Albany she won both the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching and the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching.

She received her B.S. degree in Biochemistry from Albright College, and her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Penn State.

We are excited at the opportunities that Dr. Fetrow brings to the students and faculty of Wake Forest.
