Applications are open for Fall 2027: Join Wake Forest Physics

Applications are now open for Fall 2027 graduate study with Wake Forest Physics! We invite prospective students to apply to the Ph.D. or M.S. program in Physics, or to the M.S. or graduate certificate in Quantum Information Sciences.

The application deadline is January 8, 2027. Applications are accepted online through the Wake Forest University Graduate School.

At Wake Forest, Physics graduate students can begin research early and work directly with faculty. Our research spans biophysics, condensed matter and materials physics, quantum information science, gravitational physics, and astrophysics. Students use experimental and computational facilities, and interdisciplinary projects connect Physics with Engineering and the Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

The Physics Ph.D. combines advanced coursework with original research. Students join faculty research groups, publish their work, present at conferences, and prepare for careers in academia, national laboratories, and industry. The GRE is optional, and Ph.D. applicants under consideration are interviewed by Zoom.

All applicants are automatically considered for financial aid. Because funding amounts and terms are reviewed annually, applicants should consult the application page for the current information.
