Congratulations Ajay Kandada and Steve Winter

Congratulations to Professors Ajay Kandada and Steve Winter for each winning a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation! These grants are awarded to junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through research and education, and together they total over $1 million. See Wake Forest News for more info.

Both Professor Kandada and Professor Winter work within WFU’s Center for Functional Materials, which aims to connect a broad range of materials-focused research through research, education and outreach. Professor Kandada’s research uses ultrafast optical spectroscopy to observe light-matter interactions within materials, while Professor Winter uses theory and computation to classify and predict the behavior of quantum materials.
