Wake Forest Physics invites applications for tenure-track assistant professor

Wake Forest University’s Department of Physics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Physics position in biophysics and/or materials science. The appointment begins July 1, 2027, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The department is particularly interested in candidates conducting experimental research in biophotonics, biomaterials, or bioelectronics, and in candidates pursuing AI-focused research in biophysics or materials science through computational and/or experimental approaches. Ideally, the successful candidate will work at the intersection of materials science and biophysics and strengthen connections between those research groups.
A Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field is required. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate physics, establish an externally supported research program, contribute to service and community outreach, and create a learning environment that welcomes and supports all students. Candidates whose research complements that of current Wake Forest Physics faculty are particularly encouraged to apply.
